2. Collection and storage of personal data and the nature and purpose of the use thereof when visiting the website

When you visit our website www.iurisdictum.de, information is automatically sent to the server of our website by the browser used on your terminal device. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information is collected without your intervention and stored until it is automatically deleted:

  • IP address of the requesting computer;
  • date and time of access;
  • name and URL of the retrieved file;
  • website from which access is made (referrer URL); and
  • the browser and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer as well as the name of your access provider;

The aforementioned data will be processed by us for the following purposes:

  • to ensure a smooth connection of the website;
  • to ensure the convenient use of our website;
  • to evaluate the system security and stability; and
  • for other administrative purposes.

The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 (1) 1st sentence lit. f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes listed above for data collection. Under no circumstances do we use the data collected for the purpose of drawing conclusions about you personally. In addition, we use cookies and Google Maps when you visit our website. For more information please refer to sections 4 and 5 of this Privacy Policy.

3. Transmission of data

Your personal data will not be transmitted to third parties for purposes other than those listed below. We will only pass on your personal data to third parties if:

  • you have given your express consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) 1st sentence lit. (a) GDPR,
  • the disclosure in accordance with Art. 6 (1) 1st sentence lit. (f) GDPR is necessary to assert, exercise or defend legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding legitimate interest in not disclosing your data,
  • in the event that a legal obligation exists for the transfer of data in accordance with Art. 6 (1) 1st sentence lit. (c) GDPR, and
  • this is legally permissible and necessary for the processing of contractual relationships with you in accordance with Art. 6 (1) 1st sentence lit. (b) GDPR.

4. Cookies

We use cookies on our website. These are small files that are automatically created by your web browser and stored on your terminal device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. Cookies do not cause any damage to your terminal device and do not contain viruses, Trojans or other malware. Information is stored in the cookie, each resulting in connection with the specific terminal used. However, this does not mean that we are immediately aware of your identity. Iurisdictum uses Google Maps, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, on its website to display its own location and make it easier for you to find. When you use this service, Google may collect personally identifiable information from you. If you are not signed in to your Google Account, Google collects information with unique identifiers associated with the browser, app or device you are using. If you are logged into your account, personal information is also stored. You may opt out of this collection of data from Google Ireland Limited. 6. Rights of data subjects

You have the right::

  • to request information about your personal data processed by us in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR. In particular, you may request information on the purposes of processing , the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data have been or will be disclosed, the planned storage period, the existence of a right of rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or objection, the existence of a right to lodge a complaint, the origin of your data, if these have not been collected by us, as well as the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling and, if applicable, meaningful information on their details;
  • to immediately request the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete personal data stored by us in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR;
  • to demand the erasure of your personal data stored by us in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, unless the processing is necessary for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information, for the compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims;
  • to demand restriction of the processing of your personal data in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR if the accuracy of the data is contested by you, the processing is unlawful but you oppose erasure of your personal data and we no longer need the data but you need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims or if you have objected to the processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR;
  • in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR, to receive the personal data concerning you which you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or to request the transmission to another controller;
  • in accordance with Art. 7 (3) GDPR, to withdraw your consent at any time. As a consequence, we may no longer be allowed to continue to process data on the basis of your previous consent in the future, and
  • to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR. Generally, you can contact the supervisory authority at your habitual residence, place of work or our main office.

7. Right to object

If your personal data are processed on the basis of legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 (1) 1st sentence lit. (f) GDPR, you have the right, in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR, to object to the processing of personal data concerning you on grounds relating to your particular situation or if the objection is directed against direct marketing. In the latter case, you have a general right to object, which we will implement without you specifying a particular situation. 8. Data security

We use the most common SSL (Secure Socket Layer) method in connection with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser. Usually, this is a 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can tell whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed display of the key or lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser. We also use suitable technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or against unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
